Tomato cages support the voluptuous blooms and will be covered up with lush leaf growth. Stake during planting to prevent injuring the tuber's.
They prefer your garden soil instead of potting soil 4-6 inches deep.
Dahlia's are an easy, generous, splash of color for your summer/fall garden. They are a favorite cut flower that I enjoy arranging for beautiful tables. You have to be a bit of a visionary to plant tubers, seeds and bulbs, thinking ahead of schedule. Fill your sunny beds, flower pots now for a big showing in the summer and fall.
