Welcome inside the Wambach home as we build a fire and get out the quilts. Brr. Kristen shares creative ways to express the season's change, cozy a room & declare the colors of fall. Our Front DoorInside foyer, living room Let the outside be invited immediately in, fill your windows with color. With a small living room filled with seating for 6, grand piano, large arrangements on the coffee table make the room seem "center" weighted, blocking your guests eye contact, yet I love big bold floral arrangements hence, placing them by the window killing two birds with one stone. Love of large vases filled with flowers and keeping the room airy and inviting. Creatively Fill your glass vase with old Fall issues of your favorite magazine. Tie up your theme with burlap A great mindset to adopt, (when you find that you need something) For instance: I didn't have any glass marbles or raffia to fill the glass vase I recently acquired at an estate sale. I purchased the flowers last year using the same color scheme, so I must think outside the box. (Think outside the box) I love my Victoria Bliss magazines and keep the issues according to a season, pack them according to the season. Not every issue the ones that "speak" to me and flow with my decor. I also have a glass top coffee table that allows me another platform to express the season's colors. (While outside the box:) rule of thumb glass brings light into your hangout area which aids keeping a small room filled with light. Notice I broke all the rules and painted my "small room" dark chocolate brown? I could pull this off because of the white fireplace and large white mirror which collects plenty of illumination drawing you past cumbersome furniture pieces (grand piano) keeping your friends feeling cozy and private. My Amazon store Link, I found some treasures to help you.Keep your colors flowing same hue's and textures Bring out antiques, heirloom jewelry, memorabilia for use decorating and a way to store, see your dishes and invite your guests to ask about the history of your treasure. Homes should tell a story about you. Flowing thru out Maybe you are just starting or have treasures you just needed a little encouragement to know how to share them. I always use to tell my Grandma this: "Grandma do not give it to me if you do not want me to use it." Thus keeping us free from being hoarders. Treasures only become treasures if they have a story to be remembered. So they must be loved, used and seen. Yes, accidents happen to China, but fear shouldn't dictate being able to share the elegant tea party with a dear friend who is teared up because you made the effort to bless her. People are priceless. Every place in your home has an opportunity to say I'm special; my relationships are precious to me and in this room you make me feel this way. Safe organized, pretty, loved, remembered. Fall in love with fall.
Every season returns to see if you are ready to celebrate it!
